Why doesn't the website look right on my computer?
Answer:
You're most likely using an older internet browser called "Internet Explorer." At North Point, we care about doing what's best in every area of our lives, and because of this we want to encourage people to use the best, most secure browsers available to surf the internet. This website was designed for modern, fast, and secure browsers. If you're using "Internet Explorer" things might look a little funny. That's because it doesn't adhere to modern website-making standards.
But why don't other websites show up funny like this one? That's a great question! Most websites are made with "hacks" that force the page to look right in "Internet Explorer," but in doing so they sacrifice some great design possibilities, as well as forfeit adherance to modern web standards. We figured we'd rather give you the best experience possible with this website, and in the process help you become an informed, savvy "netizen."
So what are you supposed to do about it? Man, you're on fire with the good questions. North Point highly recommends these two free, modern, fast, and secure browsers: Firefox and Safari. They both run great on Windows and Mac. Don't worry, they both can import all your settings and stuff from your old Internet Explorer browser too. The general consensus around the office is that Safari is better, but we'll let you decide for yourself. Click on the links to download them.
